Good to know
  • Strong, skilled pressure

Reviewers repeatedly describe therapists who find and work out knots thoroughly rather than giving a light tourist massage.

Fixed published prices and the no-tipping rule are consistently mentioned as removing awkwardness at checkout.

Watch-outs reviewers mention
  • Book ahead

Reviewers note the spa is popular and walk-in slots can be scarce, so advance booking is advised.

  • Simple facilities

Some reviews mention basic beds and that a private room costs extra; this is not a luxury hotel spa.

  • Branch confusion

Older listings show former addresses on Hàng Trống, Hàng Bún and Thái Hà; only Ngõ Huyện and Tô Ngọc Vân are current.

Our take

The strongest value-for-money pick in the Old Quarter: firm, skilled work from blind therapists, fixed published prices and a genuine no-tipping rule.

Omamori Spa is the operating arm of Blind-Link, a Hanoi social enterprise founded in May 2013 to train and employ blind and visually impaired Vietnamese as professional massage therapists. The name comes from the Japanese good-luck charm. The Old Quarter branch sits at 48 Ngõ Huyện, a small lane of cafes and hostels a few minutes' walk from St Joseph's Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake; a second branch operates at 52/28 Tô Ngọc Vân by West Lake.

The official menu lists fifteen treatments. Sixty-minute options include Vietnamese Non-oil Therapy and Swedish Therapy at 350,000 VND, Deep Tissue and Hot Stones Therapy at 400,000 VND, the Zen-in-the-Heart signature at 450,000 VND and Eternal Energy at 800,000 VND, alongside back, arm, facial and foot reflexology sessions at 350,000 VND. Longer combos run 105 and 160 minutes. Booking forms offer 60, 75, 90, 120 and 180-minute slots.

Blind-Link describes a training programme of over 640 hours of massage instruction plus English and business classes, with several graduates going on to open their own businesses. The spa has kept a no-tip policy since it opened, presenting fixed prices and inviting guests to use a donation box instead. Opening hours are listed as 9:00 to 22:00 daily, and the spa also runs paid massage-technique classes for visitors.

    Getting there

48 Ngõ Huyện, Hàng Trống, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Densest spa strip in the city — great value, wildly uneven quality.
